Air Fryer Teriyaki Chicken Thighs

This recipe provides instructions for making teriyaki chicken thighs quickly using an air fryer. The chicken marinates briefly before cooking.

Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken thighs about 4 thighs
Sauce
  • 1/4 cup maple Teriyaki Sauce homemade recipe

Equipment

  • Ziploc style plastic bag
  • Air fryer
  • Tongs

Method
 

  1. Place the four chicken thighs in a plastic bag. Add the teriyaki sauce, squeeze out as much air as possible, and seal the bag.
  2. Massage the sauce into the chicken from outside of the bag to coat it completely.
  3. Place the bag in the refrigerator to marinate for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F.
  5. Spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray or avocado spray.
  6. Place the marinated chicken thighs in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Discard the bag and marinade sauce.
  7. Cook for 12 minutes, flipping them over with tongs halfway through the cooking time.
  8. Check that the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees F. Adjust cooking time if needed for your air fryer.

Notes

Leftover chicken can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. If you plan to freeze leftovers, allow the cooked chicken to cool completely. Place it in an airtight freezer-safe container and freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw the chicken in the refrigerator before reheating.
