Apple Cinnamon German Pancake

Ingredients
  

For the Pancake
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
For the Topping
  • 1 medium apple peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Equipment

  • 10-inch oven-safe skillet

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Place a 10-inch oven-safe skillet in the oven to heat up.
  2. In a blender, combine the eggs, milk, flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Blend until smooth.
  3. Carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven. Add the butter to the skillet and let it melt. Swirl to coat the bottom.
  4. Pour the batter into the hot skillet.
  5. Arrange the sliced apples evenly over the batter.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture over the apples.
  7. Return the skillet to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pancake is puffed and golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and serve immediately.

Notes

You can serve this pancake with a dusting of powdered sugar or a drizzle of maple syrup if desired.
