- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
- In a separate bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Stir in the milk and diced apples until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Serve plain, dusted with powdered sugar, or with a drizzle of caramel sauce.
