Ingredients

For Bang Bang Sauce
  • 3/4 cup Mayo
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 3 Tablespoons sriracha
For the Marinated Chicken
  • 2 large chicken cut in half (or 4 small chicken)
  • 1/4 cup water or chicken broth
  • 2 Tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • Salt if needed

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Skillet or frying pan

Method

  1. Prepare the Bang Bang Sauce by mixing the mayo, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha in a small bowl. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the marinade for the chicken. In a medium bowl, combine the water or broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, olive oil, paprika, onion powder, ginger, black pepper, rice vinegar, and red chili flakes. Mix well.
  3. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Let the chicken marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated chicken for about 6 to 8 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit and the chicken is cooked through.
  5. Slice the cooked chicken into strips or bite-sized pieces.
  6. Toss the cooked chicken pieces with about half of the prepared Bang Bang Sauce. Add more sauce if you prefer a heavier coating.
  7. Serve the sauced chicken over rice or your preferred base to create the bowl. Drizzle with any remaining sauce.

Notes

For a complete bowl, serve the chicken over steamed rice and add vegetables like shredded cabbage or sliced cucumbers.
