Ingredients

Dip Base
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar sifted
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whipped topping, thawed like Cool Whip
Cake and Coating
  • 1 box Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes about 10 cakes
  • 1/4 cup green sprinkles for decoration
  • 1/4 cup red sprinkles for decoration

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Electric mixer
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Remove the cream cheese and butter from the refrigerator to allow them to soften to room temperature.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar to the cream cheese mixture, mixing on low speed until combined, then increase speed to medium and beat until smooth.
  4. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping using a spatula until no streaks remain. Do not overmix.
  6. Take about half of the Christmas Tree Cakes and chop them into small pieces. Fold these pieces into the dip mixture.
  7. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Cover the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to set.
  8. Before serving, top the dip with the remaining chopped cake pieces, green sprinkles, and red sprinkles.
  9. Serve the dip with graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or fruit for dipping.
