Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the oats, whole wheat flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
  3. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and melted butter.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. If using, fold in the nuts or chocolate chips.
  5. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  7. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
