Cheesy Thumbprint Appetizers

These cheesy thumbprint appetizers are easy to make and perfect for parties.

Ingredients
  

For the Dough
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon milk
For the Filling
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh chives

  • Small bowl

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the flour and 1/2 cup cheddar cheese. Cut in the softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add the milk and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Roll the dough into 24 small balls.
  5. Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. In another small bowl, mix together the cream cheese, 2 tablespoons cheddar cheese, and chives.
  7. Press your thumb into the center of each dough ball to create an indentation.
  8. Fill each indentation with about 1/2 teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

You can add a pinch of garlic powder to the cream cheese filling for extra flavor.
