Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth. Beat in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- If desired, combine the 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in a small bowl. Roll rounded tablespoons of dough into balls, then roll the balls in the sugar-cinnamon mixture.
- Place the dough balls about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
