Crispy Ham & Cheese Puff Pastry

Ingredients
  

For the Pastry
  • 1 sheet Puff pastry, thawed
For the Filling
  • 4 slices Ham, finely chopped
  • 1 cup Shredded cheese Cheddar or your favorite
  • 1 Egg, beaten For egg wash

  • Pastry brush

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Cut it into 8 equal rectangles.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the chopped ham and shredded cheese.
  4. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the ham and cheese mixture onto one half of each pastry rectangle, leaving a small border.
  5. Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling to create a pocket. Press the edges with a fork to seal.
  6. Place the pastries on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

You can add a pinch of black pepper to the ham and cheese mixture for extra flavor.
