Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 package (2 pound) frozen hash brown potatoes thawed
  • 1 pound pork sausage
  • 1 small onion diced
Egg Mixture
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • To taste salt and ground black pepper
Topping
  • 12 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese

Equipment

  • Skillet

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the pork sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain off any excess fat. Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Spread the thawed hash brown potatoes evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  4. Spoon the cooked sausage and onion mixture over the hash browns.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage and potatoes in the baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded Cheddar cheese over the top.
  8. Bake for 35 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the cheese is melted and lightly browned. Let it cool for a few minutes before cutting and serving.

Notes

You can substitute the pork sausage with ground turkey or chicken for a different flavor profile.
