Ingredients

  • 1 whole salmon fillet, skin-on preferred 2-pound
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter OR olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • To taste ground black pepper

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Small bowl

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter or olive oil, minced garlic, brown sugar, Italian seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place the salmon fillet skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Spoon the butter and herb mixture evenly over the top of the salmon fillet.
  5. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time depends on the thickness of the fillet.
  6. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.

Notes

If you prefer a stronger lemon flavor, you can add the juice of half a lemon to the butter mixture before brushing it onto the salmon.
