Ingredients

For the Meatballs
  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 recommended
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs plain
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
For the Garlic Butter Sauce
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Skillet

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  3. Roll the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and browned.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, prepare the garlic butter sauce. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes to slightly thicken.
  7. Add the baked meatballs to the skillet with the garlic butter sauce. Toss gently to coat.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Serve these meatballs with toothpicks for an easy appetizer, or over pasta or rice for a complete meal.
