- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- Add the warm water and 1/4 cup olive oil. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Lightly grease the bowl with olive oil. Place the dough in the bowl, turning to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 400F (200C).
- Grease a baking sheet with olive oil. Punch down the dough and spread it evenly onto the prepared baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the 1/4 cup olive oil, minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, rosemary (if using), salt, and pepper.
- Drizzle the garlic Parmesan mixture over the dough. Use your fingers to dimple the dough and distribute the topping.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
You can add fresh herbs like parsley or chives to the topping for extra flavor.
