- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the drained green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, and black pepper.
- Stir in 1 cup of the French fried onions into the bean mixture.
- Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the dish from the oven. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of French fried onions over the top.
- Return the casserole to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.

You can use fresh or frozen green beans if you prefer, but you may need to blanch or steam them first until tender-crisp before mixing them into the casserole base.
