- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it up with a spoon and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in the minced garlic, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, ground ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for 1-2 minutes more, until the sauce has thickened slightly.
- To serve, spoon the ground beef mixture into the lettuce leaves. Top with shredded carrots, chopped peanuts, and green onions.
Notes
You can customize the toppings with shredded cabbage, cilantro, or a drizzle of sriracha.
