- Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.
- Add ground turkey and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess grease.
- Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
- Add diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Bring the chili to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. For a thicker chili, cook uncovered for the last 10-15 minutes.
- Serve hot. Optional toppings include shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped cilantro.
Notes
This chili can be made ahead of time and reheats well. Adjust seasonings to your preference.
