Method
- Combine water, tea bags, ginger, star anise, cloves, cinnamon stick, and black peppercorns in a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from heat, stir in brown sugar until dissolved. Let steep for 2 more minutes.
- Strain the chai concentrate into a mug.
- Heat milk in a separate saucepan or microwave until warm. Froth if desired.
- Pour warm milk over the chai concentrate and stir gently.
Notes
Adjust sugar and spices to your preference. You can use dairy or non-dairy milk.
