Honey Garlic Chicken Bites

These honey garlic chicken bites are a simple and delicious appetizer or main course. They are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.

Ingredients
  

For the Chicken
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
For the Honey Garlic Sauce
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic about 2-3 cloves
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
For Garnish (Optional)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp chopped green onions

Method
 

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the chicken pieces with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and 1 teaspoon sesame oil. Let marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, toss the marinated chicken with cornstarch and black pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Arrange the coated chicken pieces in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown.
  6. While the chicken is baking, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  7. Cook the sauce over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens slightly, about 3-5 minutes. Stir in 1 tablespoon of sesame oil.
  8. Once the chicken is baked, transfer it to a clean bowl. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken and toss to coat evenly.
  9. Serve the honey garlic chicken bites immediately. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.

Notes
