Honey Garlic Shrimp Bowls

A quick and flavorful shrimp bowl recipe with a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.

Ingredients
  

For the Shrimp
  • 1 lb Shrimp Peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
For the Honey Garlic Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 tsp Ginger Grated
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
For Serving
  • 2 cups Cooked rice Or quinoa
  • 1 cup Broccoli florets Steamed or blanched
  • 1/4 cup Carrot Shredded
  • 2 tbsp Sesame seeds Toasted, for garnish

Method
 

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil for the sauce. Set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
  3. Pour the prepared honey garlic sauce into the same skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook for 1-2 minutes, until slightly thickened.
  4. Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for another minute until heated through.
  5. To assemble the bowls, divide the cooked rice among four bowls. Top with the honey garlic shrimp, steamed broccoli, and shredded carrots.
  6. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and chopped scallions before serving.

Notes

You can add other vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas. Adjust the sweetness and saltiness of the sauce to your preference.
