Immune Boosting Broth

Ingredients
  

For the Broth
  • 8 cups Water
  • 1 Whole chicken or 2 lbs chicken pieces
  • 2 Carrots roughly chopped
  • 2 Celery stalks roughly chopped
  • 1 Onion quartered
  • 4 cloves Garlic smashed
  • 1 inch Ginger sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon Black peppercorns
  • 2 sprigs Fresh thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Salt or to taste

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Strainer

Method
 

  1. Place all ingredients in a large pot. Add water to cover.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for at least 1 hour. Skim off any foam that rises to the surface.
  3. Strain the broth through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean pot or heatproof bowl. Discard the solids.
  4. Season with additional salt if needed. Serve hot.

Notes

You can store the broth in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze it for longer storage.
