Indian Overnight Oats

Ingredients
  

For the Oats
  • 1/2 cup Rolled oats
  • 1 cup Milk Almond, soy, or dairy milk can be used
  • 1 tbsp Chia seeds
  • 1 tsp Maple syrup Or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
  • Pinch Saffron strands Optional
Toppings
  • 1 tbsp Chopped nuts Almonds, pistachios, or cashews
  • 1 tbsp Fresh berries Or other fruits

Equipment

Method
 

  1. In a jar or container, combine rolled oats, milk, chia seeds, maple syrup, cardamom powder, and saffron strands (if using).
  2. Stir well to ensure everything is combined and there are no clumps.
  3. Cover the jar and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, or preferably overnight.
  4. In the morning, stir the oats. If they are too thick, add a splash more milk.
  5. Top with chopped nuts and fresh berries before serving.

Notes

You can adjust the sweetness to your preference. Feel free to add other spices like cinnamon or nutmeg.
