Ingredients
  

For the Banana Bars
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Optional Topping
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, mashed bananas, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  6. If using, sprinkle the chocolate chips over the batter.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bars cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
