Irresistible Crack Chicken Casserole

This recipe makes a simple and satisfying chicken casserole.

Ingredients
  

Casserole Base
  • 1 block cream cheese 8-ounce, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 package Ranch Seasoning Mix 1-ounce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 2 pounds chicken cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 8 ounces shell pasta
Toppings
  • 6 slices bacon cooked until crisp and chopped
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese freshly shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese freshly shredded

  • Large pot
  • Large mixing bowl
  • 9x13 inch baking dish

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the shell pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set it aside.
  3. Cook the chicken pieces in a skillet until they are fully cooked through. Drain any excess liquid.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, Ranch Seasoning Mix, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  5. Fold the cooked chicken and the cooked pasta into the cream cheese mixture until everything is evenly coated.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.
  7. Top the casserole evenly with the shredded cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove the casserole from the oven. Sprinkle the chopped, cooked bacon over the top before serving.

Notes

You can cook the chicken ahead of time to reduce the preparation time.
