Servings: 4 people
Course: Dinner
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1.5 pound sirloin steak cut into bite size pieces, or strip loin, tenderloin, strip steak or rib eye
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon pepper or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter unsalted
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon parsley fresh, chopped

Equipment

  • Large skillet

Method

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the steak pieces with salt and pepper.
  3. Add the steak to the hot skillet and cook for 3 to 5 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the butter to the skillet and let it melt.
  5. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the melted butter. Cook for about 1 minute until the garlic is fragrant. Do not let the garlic burn.
  6. Return the steak to the skillet. Toss the steak in the garlic butter mixture until coated.
  7. Stir in the chopped parsley. Serve the steak bites immediately.

Notes

If you are adding potatoes, cook them separately before starting the steak, or cook them in the skillet before the steak, removing them before you cook the meat.
