Marry Me Melting Cabbage

Ingredients
  

For the Cabbage
  • 1 head of green cabbage about 2 pounds
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the Sauce
  • 1/4 cup vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • Knife
  • Small bowl

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage. Cut the cabbage into quarters and remove the core.
  3. Place the cabbage quarters on a baking sheet. Brush them with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Roast for 30 minutes.
  5. While the cabbage is roasting, whisk together the vegetable broth, soy sauce, maple syrup, garlic powder, and onion powder in a small bowl.
  6. After 30 minutes, carefully flip the cabbage quarters. Pour the sauce over the cabbage.
  7. Continue roasting for another 30 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and caramelized.
  8. Serve hot.

Notes

You can add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for a little heat. This dish pairs well with many main courses.
