Course: Appetizer, Snack
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

For the Mummies
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent rolls 16 oz
  • 12 hot dogs or mini sausages
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
For the Eyes
  • 12 mustard or ketchup for drawing eyes

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles. Cut each triangle lengthwise into thin strips, about 1/4 inch wide.
  3. Wrap each hot dog with the dough strips, leaving a small gap for the face. Overlap the strips to create a mummy bandage effect.
  4. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Brush the dough with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Once cooled slightly, use mustard or ketchup to draw two small eyes on each mummy.

Notes

Serve warm. These are great for parties or as a fun Halloween snack.
