- Cream together the butter and shortening in a large bowl until smooth.
- Add the granulated sugar and vanilla extract, and beat until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips, German chocolate, and pecans.
- Cover the dough and chill for at least 10 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
