Total Time 15 minutes
Servings: 6 people
Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

For the Dirt
  • 24 cookies Oreo cookies crushed
For the Pudding
  • 1 package instant chocolate pudding mix 3.4 oz
  • 2 cups milk
For Decoration
  • 12 gummy worms

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Spoons
  • Serving glasses or cups

Method

  1. Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. You can do this by placing them in a zip-top bag and crushing them with a rolling pin, or by using a food processor.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and milk. Beat until well combined and slightly thickened, about 2 minutes.
  3. In your serving glasses or cups, layer the crushed Oreos and the chocolate pudding. Start with a layer of Oreos, then a layer of pudding, and repeat until the glasses are full. Finish with a layer of Oreos on top.
  4. Gently insert gummy worms into the top layer of Oreos to resemble worms coming out of the dirt.
  5. Chill the dirt dessert in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the pudding to set.

Notes

You can use any flavor of pudding you like. Vanilla or white chocolate pudding also works well. For an extra layer of flavor, you can add a tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder to the crushed Oreos.
