Ingredients

For the Coffee Jelly
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Instant coffee powder
  • 1 tablespoon Unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1 scoop Vanilla or unflavored protein powder

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Whisk
  • serving glasses

Method

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, and instant coffee powder. Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved and coffee is fully incorporated. Do not boil.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the gelatin powder with a few tablespoons of cold water until smooth. Let it sit for a minute to bloom.
  3. Add the bloomed gelatin to the warm coffee mixture. Stir well until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk the protein powder with a small amount of the warm coffee mixture to create a smooth paste. This prevents lumps.
  5. Gradually whisk the protein paste into the remaining coffee mixture until fully combined and smooth.
  6. Pour the mixture into individual serving glasses or a single mold.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  8. Serve chilled. You can add a splash of milk or cream if desired.
