Simple Cake Dip

Ingredients
  

Dip Base
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar sifted
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • 1/4 cup milk or heavy cream
Mix-ins
  • 1 cup rainbow sprinkles plus more for topping

Method
 

  1. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened cream cheese and softened butter together until smooth. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  2. Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar to the butter and cream cheese mixture, beating until fully combined and smooth.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract and almond extract.
  4. Slowly add the milk or heavy cream until the dip reaches your desired consistency. It should be thick but easily dippable.
  5. Gently fold in one cup of rainbow sprinkles using a spatula.
  6. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Top with extra sprinkles before serving.

Notes

Serve this dip with graham crackers, vanilla wafers, shortbread cookies, or pieces of fruit like strawberries or apple slices.
