Slow Cooker Korean Beef

This slow cooker Korean beef recipe is easy to make and full of flavor. It's perfect for a weeknight meal.

Ingredients
  

For the Beef
  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast cut into 1-inch pieces
For the Sauce
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional

Method
 

  1. Place the beef in your slow cooker.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, water, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  3. Pour the sauce over the beef in the slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours, or until the beef is tender and easily shreds.
  5. Shred the beef with two forks directly in the slow cooker, mixing it with the sauce.
  6. Serve hot over rice.

Notes

You can also serve this Korean beef with noodles or in lettuce wraps. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired.
