Spinach Cottage Cheese Flagels

A simple recipe for spinach cottage cheese flagels.

Ingredients
  

For the Flagels
  • 1 cup cottage cheese full fat
  • 1 cup spinach cooked and squeezed dry
  • 1 cup self-rising flour plus more for dusting
For the Topping
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

  • Baking sheet
  • Mixing bowl

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cottage cheese, spinach, and self-rising flour. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for a minute or two until smooth.
  4. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into a rope and shape into a flagel.
  5. Brush the flagels with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

You can add other toppings like poppy seeds or everything bagel seasoning.
