Ingredients

For the Pretzel Rods
  • 12 Pretzel rods
  • 10 oz Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable shortening (optional, for smoother melting)
  • 1/2 cup Halloween sprinkles

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the chocolate chips and vegetable shortening (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  3. Hold a pretzel rod by one end and dip the other end into the melted chocolate, rotating to coat about two-thirds of the rod. Let excess chocolate drip back into the bowl.
  4. Place the chocolate-dipped pretzel rod onto the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Immediately sprinkle the wet chocolate with Halloween sprinkles.
  6. Repeat with the remaining pretzel rods.
  7. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm.

Notes

Store the pretzel rods in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
