Course: Appetizer
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

For the Dip
  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 1 package cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
For the Spooky Decoration
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 black olives sliced, for eyes

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Slow cooker
  • Mixing bowl

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) or prepare your slow cooker on high.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, ranch dressing, and hot sauce. Mix until well combined.
  3. Stir in the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish or your slow cooker insert.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until heated through and bubbly. If using a slow cooker, cook on high for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  6. Once the dip is heated, remove it from the oven or slow cooker.
  7. To decorate, place two slices of black olives on top of the dip to resemble eyes. You can use a small amount of sour cream to help them stick if needed.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite dippers like tortilla chips, crackers, or vegetable sticks.

Notes

For a spicier dip, add more hot sauce. You can also add a pinch of cayenne pepper. Feel free to get creative with your spooky decorations!
