Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in the salt, pepper, and shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
- Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir to combine.
- Pour the mac and cheese into the baking dish.
- Arrange the halved hot dogs over the mac and cheese to form a rib cage shape. Use the split hot dog buns as the sternum and pelvis.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and heated through.
Notes
You can add food coloring to the mac and cheese for a more vibrant Halloween look.
