Method
- Place the Chex cereal in a large bowl.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and melted.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour the melted mixture over the cereal and gently stir until evenly coated.
- In a separate bowl or a large zip-top bag, combine the powdered sugar, crushed freeze-dried strawberries, dry strawberry cake mix, and crushed shortbread cookies.
- Add the coated cereal to the sugar mixture. Toss gently until the cereal is well coated with the strawberry shortcake mixture.
- Spread the puppy chow in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to set.
- Allow to cool and harden completely before serving.
