Ingredients
  

For the Onions
  • 4 Tennessee onions large, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper freshly ground

  • Large skillet

Method
 

  1. Heat the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced Tennessee onions to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 25-30 minutes, or until the onions are deeply caramelized and tender.
  4. Serve hot as a side dish.

Notes

You can add a splash of balsamic vinegar in the last few minutes of cooking for extra flavor.
