- In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and sliced onion and stir-fry for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the seasoned ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart with a spoon and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the sliced red and green bell peppers. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the peppers are tender-crisp.
- Remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in the fresh basil leaves until they just begin to wilt.
- Serve the Thai Basil Beef Rolls immediately over cooked jasmine rice. Garnish with fresh chopped cilantro.
Notes
For a spicier version, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes or some sliced chili peppers along with the garlic and onions.
