Turkey Lettuce Wraps (PF-Style)

Ingredients
  

For the Filling
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1/2 cup water chestnuts chopped
  • 1/4 cup green onions chopped
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
For Serving
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce leaves separated

Method
 

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground turkey and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger, and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add chopped water chestnuts and green onions to the skillet. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Pour the sauce mixture over the turkey mixture in the skillet and stir to combine.
  6. Cook for 1-2 minutes more, until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  7. Spoon the turkey mixture into the separated lettuce leaves and serve immediately.

Notes

You can add other vegetables like diced carrots or bell peppers to the filling for extra flavor and texture.
