Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 pound Ground turkey
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 can Crushed tomatoes 28 ounce
  • 1/2 cup Chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese grated, for serving
  • 1 pound Pasta cooked according to package directions

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

Method

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground turkey and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  5. Pour in crushed tomatoes and chicken broth. Add oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  6. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for at least 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Serve the turkey bolognese sauce over cooked pasta. Top with grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

For a richer flavor, you can add a splash of red wine after browning the turkey and let it reduce before adding the tomatoes.
