Wonderland Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are a classic treat, perfect for any occasion. They are soft in the middle and slightly crisp on the edges, loaded with chocolate chips.

Ingredients
  

For the Cookies
  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract and then the eggs, one at a time, until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. You can also freeze the dough balls for later baking.
